Seasons of Life

Friday, October 20th, 2006

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. (more…)

Memphis and the dirtbike

Monday, October 9th, 2006

dsc09925.thumbnail.JPGMemphis came home from school on Thursday and said that his friend was getting a dirtbike. Kevin had actually been thinking of getting him for a while and had actually found one from a friend. So Kevin called him up and brought home the dirtbike for Thanksgiving weekend to see if he’d actually like it. (He has a pocket bike that he’s not too fond of)

Turns out that he not only loves it but that he is absolutely amazing at riding it already. Great throttle control and he’s already using his brakes like a pro. In fact, we can see him going pro one day – wouldn’t that be something! (more…)

Vienna Potty Training

Monday, October 9th, 2006

Vienna on the pottyWhile mom and baby were in the hospital still, I went to Walmart to pick up what we needed for Altlanta. While I was there, I came across the cutest little princess potty in the whole world for Vienna.

She actually went number 2 in it once, but she’s still content being in diapers for the time being. But she has one now, a princess one – does she not deserve the best? šŸ˜‰

Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in Canada and the
United States especially in the minority race.

Last month I attended my annual training session that’s required for
maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session
there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic,
Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their belief systems.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam
gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When
it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked:
“Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that most Imams and
clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels
of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all
Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven. If that’s the case, can you
give me the definition of an infidel?”

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he
replied, “Non-believers!”

I responded, “So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of
Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they
can go to Heaven. Is that correct?” (more…)
